Biography

Esencia started on October, 2001. Their first performance was on December 5th, 2001. Angela has been a singer since she was 17, she belonged to several four-harmony-choirs, and by the age of 27 she belonged to a six-voice-harmony band named Classic. She wanted to do something different so she started seeking for musicians to create a rock band. By the middle of year 2001 she found Gabriel and Jesel, and another guitar player (Carlos Sorto) and started the rehearsals. At first Esencia was a cover band, they used to play all classics in Spanish and English, but just like every musician they wanted to do something of their own creation. So Gabriel and Angela started to compose with the help of the other members of the band, and started the new project of recording their first album.

By the end of 2004, Esencia was invited to participate in an international festival at the other side of the world: TAIWAN! Yes, the Honduran Consulate invited Esencia to perform with their original music in the cities of Taipei, Tainan, and Taichung. It was a two week tour in the exiting country of TAIWAN! What Esencia appreciated the most was the great acceptance of the Taiwaneese people by dancing and showing their joy while they played. It really was like speaking the same language: Music!

Then, by the middle of year 2005, Angela was invited to represent Honduras in a TV show similar to "American Idol". The TV show takes place in Santiago de Chile, and the name of the show is "Rojo Fama Contrafama", it was the international edition. Angela got the 6th place among 21 contestants, during five months of competition.

By the time Angela was in Chile, she met different recording studios, so she made contact with one of the producers in Chile, and brought him all the way to Honduras so that he was the one in charge of Esencia´s first album recording and production. And so it is!

Esencia plans to travel with its new release around the country, then around Central America, and then North and South America, and then Europe and Asia. All they want is to visit as many countries as possible just to share what they create and have a lot of fun with all the different audiences they get to perform to!!!
